<p>The current research reports the real performance of machine translation engines (DeepL and GPT-3.5) in translating Classical Chinese into Modern English as well as the post-editing quality of GPT-3.5. The statistical data reveals that: 1) machine translation saves more time and processing energy than human translators; 2) GPT-3.5’s performance in Chinese-English translation is better than Deepl, and it has the advantage of post-editing and self-evolution; 3) Human translators’ ability of semantic processing is superior than DeepL and GPT-3.5. Thus human translators and machine translation engines shall have a good cooperation in improving the accuracy, comprehensibility and fluency of translated texts.</p>Wei WANGWeihong ZHOU

<p>The study aims to reveal the level of psychological hardness among gifted students in Jordan and to know the differences in the level of psychological hardness they have according to their academic grades, in addition to identifying the nature of the relationship between the big five personality traits and psychological hardness among gifted students in Jordan. The study population consisted of all gifted students in the King Abdullah II Schools for Excellence in Jordan, which number (3) the Jubilee School and the 18 pioneering centers for the gifted in Jordan affiliated with the Ministry of Education. A representative random sample of the study population was selected. The study also followed the correlational approach, and to achieve the objectives of the study, the big five personality traits scale was used prepared by (Costa & McCrae, 1992) and Arabization of Al-Ansari (1997), in addition to the psychological hardness scale (prepared by the researcher). The validity of the two scales was verified by calculating the validity of the discriminatory significance as an indicator of its construct validity and verifying its reliability by calculating Cronbach’s Alpha.<br />To answer the study questions, descriptive statistic measures were used during the extraction of arithmetic means and standard deviations; To detect the level of psychological hardness among gifted students in Jordan, One-way ANOVA was used to detect the differences in the level of psychological hardness in the study sample according to the academic grade (tenth grade, first secondary, second secondary). Pearson Correlation coefficient was used to detect the correlation between the big five personality traits and psychological hardness among gifted students in Jordan. <p>Culture has a significant function due to the learning and teaching of a language. The most important issue is that language teaching accompanying with culture can boost students’ understanding of the nature of the language, communication and human relations.<br />The goal of this research is to illustrate that culture and language are inseparable and to introduce the ways of enhancing linguistic comprehension. At the first look, language and culture seem two separate fields, but they twisted together and impact each other reciprocally and inevitably language can be considered a part of culture and plays an immense role in it.<br />This phenomenon can be discussed as the social knowledge. It means we gain this expertise subconsciously. By improving the language, the awareness of our knowledge and our culture will develop. We learn to categorize the world around us by a special language according to acquiring words through the transmitting of the culture.<br />In this work, destroying of local languages and dialects accompany culture and identity loss in the capital city “Tehran’’ has been investigated by population expansion and increased migration linked to urbanization.<br />When the migrants establish a residence in Tehran, face a different language spoken, Farsi, so they have to handle matters of their personal and cultural identity.<br />This aspect of urbanization can destroy the native language of the migrants and then their identity and culture might be threatened.<br />In this study, I have debated the populated shift toward Tehranian language, Farsi as a national language in Tehran, from local and Indigenous languages and dialects such as Gilaki, Lori, Azeri Turki, Kurdish and others (Arabic, Mazandarani, Arabic, Talysh, Balochi,Turkaman) over the generations by analyzing twisted identity and culture.<br />Diversity of languages in Tehran, a metropolitan zone, has been illustrated in viewpoint of increased migration and rural-urban fluctuation in population toward chasing a modern lifestyle which erode identity of a territory joint to the language.<br />Potential changes in language and identity over the recent generations were analyzed by considering the population of new inhabitants based on the migration from small cities or villages to Tehran.<br />In this article, the results have indicated recent loss in identity and culture of local and Indigenous languages in Iran due to dying a language which has been influenced by migration toward urbanization.</p>Sahar Mollaamin

<p>Both English folk songs and Yao folk songs come from the folk and belong to a kind of folk literature. Through the comparison of religious metaphors in English folk songs and Yao Folk Songs, and by exploring the root of the formation of their respective national characteristics, we can find out that cultural differences as well as cultural similarities exist in them although Yao folk songs are not the representatives of all Chinese ballads. Since the source domains and target domains used in these two folk songs are generally familiar to us, their religious metaphors give us a hint that early human beings had ever faced the common social problems, and they had similar lifestyles and almost the same characteristics of human’s thinking. Undoubtedly, this research can help us roughly to learn about the historical track of human being’s childhood and follow the trail of their religious thoughts.</p>Jiansheng YAN

<p>As a revolutionary means, online teaching has deeply affected all aspects of college students’ learning. It has become an important ability for college students to learn and achieve their learning goals through the internet. In this paper, 160 non-English major students in a university were selected as the subjects. A combination of quantitative and qualitative analyses was adopted, and questionnaire and interviews were used as the research tools. The questionnaire was used to measure the network self-efficacy of the subjects before and after the experiment. The interviews were used to deeply explore the subtle changes in subjective emotion before and after the experiment. After the questionnaires and interviews at each stage, SPSS Statistics 26.0 was adopted to carry out phased data analysis and overall data analysis of the questionnaires, and content analysis was conducted on the data of the interviews, so as to measure the overall situation and correlation of non-English major students’ autonomous learning and network self-efficacy in English learning, and find out the influencing factors. The purpose is to put self-efficacy, an internal factor affecting students’ self-learning, in an important position, so that teachers can give more encouragement and praise to the students. In addition, self-efficacy assessment, a student-centered internal evaluation method, should be used to help students cultivate a positive evaluation of themselves, and to encourage students to engage in autonomous learning through the use of networks.</p>Hongxia ZHANG

<p>The State of Israel has been adopted as a form of government that has a population of about six million and remains in an area of about twenty one thousand square kilometers, not included in the nation-state structure. The area where the state is located is where the Kingdom of Yehuda is. Culturally, it has hosted many religions, especially Judaism, Christianity, Druze and Bahaili. There is a long depth of political history and awareness of political culture that makes it behind the establishment of the state.<br />The identity foundations of Judaism are Jewish society chosen as determined by the Torah. In terms of politics, it is seen that Israeli Political Systematics was created within the framework of Zionism and diversified from different political ideologies formed among Zionist party groups.<br />The subject of Arz-ı Mevud, the Promised Lands, is an issue that is based on religious foundations and interacts on politics. According to the Judaic belief, it is a region that is shown by Jehovah as an area belonging to the Israelites and is included in a large area between the Euphrates and the Nile. However, its exact boundaries are not clear. When evaluated in the context of Judaism belief, Hz. Mose’s all the lands traveled until he entered the Palestinian territory form the border of the Promised Land region.<br />The purpose of this study; The aim of this course is to evaluate the sensitivities of transforming the issue of “Arz-ı Mevud” (Promised Land) into a policy tool today. The promised land issue is still an ideologically valid issue. It is possible to say that the Israeli State focuses on this issue, which is based on the ideology of religion, and that it has ideological dreams and sanctions in the region mentioned in the Promised Land. In this context, the Promised Lands issue is important for the State of Israel and it aims to reconstruct its ideological sustainability by reconstructing the state identity in the region with digital diplomacy in the framework of the changing bureaucracy order. Up to now, the construction of first-class courses in higher education in our country has made remarkable achievements, but some courses still fail to reach first-class standards. <p>The divergent historical development and customs of Eastern and Western civilizations have led to differences in language, culture, and cognitive paradigms. This paper conducts a comprehensive analysis of the Chinese translation of “Paranoid Politics Goes Viral” in The New York Times, from the perspective of English-Chinese comparison. The analysis covers the lexical and sentence structures level of both languages, including part of speech, connotative words, hypotaxis and parataxis, active and passive voice, topic structure, and cognitive disparities. To address these differences, it is essential to avoid untranslatability and non-equivalence arising from cultural distinctions. Selecting appropriate translation strategies becomes crucial in order to fully utilize the strengths of the target language and accurately convey information to the readers in the target language.</p>Zilin WAN

<p>This research study aims to investigate the relationship between sustainable rural policing and community development in Nigeria, focusing on the Okutukutu Community in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. The study recognizes the importance of effective policing in promoting community safety and fostering socio-economic development in rural areas. However, limited research has explored the specific dynamics and challenges faced by rural communities in Nigeria, particularly in the context of sustainable policing and community development.<br />Using a mixed-methods approach, the study will employ both qualitative and quantitative research methods to gather comprehensive data. Qualitative data will be collected through interviews, focus group discussions, and observations, while quantitative data will be obtained through surveys and statistical analysis. The research will involve a sample of community members, local police officers, community leaders, and relevant stakeholders.<br />The study aims to achieve several objectives: 1) Assess the current state of rural policing services in Okutukutu Community, including the adequacy of police presence, response time, and community-police relations; 2) Examine the perceptions and experiences of community members regarding safety, crime prevention, and the role of police in community development; 3) Explore the existing community development initiatives in Okutukutu Community and their relationship with rural policing efforts; 4) Identify the challenges and opportunities for sustainable rural policing and community development in the study area; 5) Provide recommendations for enhancing the effectiveness and sustainability of rural policing and community development efforts in Okutukutu Community and similar contexts.<br />The findings of this research contribute to the existing literature on rural policing and community development in Nigeria, providing insights into the specific challenges faced by rural communities and the potential strategies for addressing them. The study’s outcomes will be valuable for policymakers, law enforcement agencies, community leaders, and other stakeholders involved in rural policing and community development initiatives.
